The Immortals of England Cricket
I am pleased to be able to report that my book, The Immortals of England Cricket, is finally out! You will recall that the book contains profiles of eleven England cricketers - a team - ranging in time from Wilfred Rhodes and S F Barnes, to James Anderson and Ben Stokes.
|
I set out the underlying principles in the introduction, and try to establish in the separate essays why each of these players is fit to rank as an “immortal”. There is a lovely cover quote from Vic Marks - “What an elegant way to start an argument”, and, of course, not everyone will agree with my selection.

I was interviewed on the BBC World Service cricket show, Stumped (link here, the interview is at 30:25) and there are a few differences of opinion.
